During individual sessions, both verbal and art methods are utilized to support your (or your loved ones) goals. Empathy and encouragment throughout the art making helps clients to move through the process feeling safe and secure. I encourage clients to explore their responses and ideas related to their artwork which helps them to gain insight and clarity over time.
During group art therapy sessions, you or your loved one will have the opportunity to work out problems and emotional issues in a group seting with others who may have similar challenges and goals. The group structure will vary based on members needs and may include working on individual art work or a collective group art piece. Group art therapy is particularly benefical if you or your loved one struggles with interpersonal relationships and social situations.
